Portuguese tissue producer Fapajal Papermaking has invested in an Andritz-supplied PrimeLineTM tissue production line for start-up at its mill in São Julião do Tojal.

Designed to produce high-quality toilet and kitchen tissue, start-up of the 30,000tpy line is planned for the first half of 2027.

The scope of supply includes equipment for stock preparation, a PrimeLineTM tissue machine with a speed of 1,800m/min and a width of 2.75 metres, a PrimePress shoe press for improved bulk and softness, a Steel Yankee, automation and electrification systems, as well as basic and detailed engineering services.

Founded in 1755, Fapajal specialises in the production of high-quality tissue paper, offering parent reels to converters.
