Brazilian pulp and tissue manufacturer Suzano has boosted its presence in the consumer goods market after starting tissue production at its Aracruz, Espírito Santo-based plant.
The Aracruz facility has a Valmet-supplied tissue paper machine with an annual production capacity of 60,000 tonnes, with two Valmet-supplied converting lines that manufacture 30,000 tonnes of toilet paper each year.
Brands to be produced include Neve Double-Ply and Triple-Ply, Mimmo and Max Pure.
The R$650m investment adds a second mill in the state alongside the company’s existing facility in Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, which opened in March 2021. The company will supply its jumbo rolls to the Cachoeiro de Itapemirim unit.

Luis Bueno, Executive Vice President of Consumer Goods and Corporate Relations at Suzano, said: “The Aracruz unit is the company’s seventh factory producing consumer goods, demonstrating Suzano’s focus on consistently investing in expanding its presence in the Brazilian market.
“We are monitoring the changes in the population’s consumption habits, which presents new opportunities to deliver superior quality and efficiency to our customers.”
The expansion increases Suzano’s installed tissue paper capacity to 340,000tpy.
