Essity has announced that Donato Giorgio, President Global Supply Chain and member of the Executive Management Team, will leave Essity.
Giorgio joined Essity (then SCA) in 2009 and has held various leadership positions within the company.
In 2015 he became a member of the Executive Management Team and under his leadership the company has developed its sustainable manufacturing and circular resource solutions.
This has included driving forward a “truly circular society” and becoming the first company in the world to use renewable hydrogen for tissue production.
Giorgio told TWM: “I’m incredibly proud of the transformation we made at SCA and the evolution of Essity into a global health and hygiene leader.
“Building a world-class, integrated global supply chain for Essity has been a true privilege and a unique experience, offering immense personal and professional learning.
“We’ve set new standards in the tissue industry, from developing sustainable materials to being the first to run a fossil fuel-free mill.
“These game-changing projects, with many more in development, are only possible thanks to the unique competence and passion of the Essity team.”
Ulrika Kolsrud, President and Chief Executive, Essity, said: “Donato Giorgio has been a strong force behind Essity’s transformation in global supply chain excellence.
“I would like to thank Donato for his contributions to Global Supply Chain and to Essity and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”
Giorgio will leave his position on 31 October 2025, joining American container glass manufacturer O-l Glass as Chief Supply Officer.
The recruitment process for his successor has been initiated.
