Colleagues at Century Pulp and Paper and Andritz: start-up of the company’s boiler is planned for 2027

India’s Century Pulp and Paper has invested in an Andritz-supplied recovery boiler to its mill in Lalkuan, Uttarakhand.

It will replace one of the existing recovery boilers, which the supplier said will increase the mill’s green energy production.

Start-up is scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.

The recovery boiler has a capacity of 950tds/d and is designed to process black liquor derived from a raw material mixture of hardwood, bamboo, and bagasse.

Ajay Gupta, Chief Executive of Century Pulp and Paper, said: “Our new recovery boiler from Andritz will significantly enhance our mill’s environmental performance and ensure a stable supply of green energy over a long period of time.”

Century Pulp and Paper is part of the Aditya Birla Group and is one of India’s largest manufacturers of paper, board, tissue, and pulp.
